Dr Belle Monappa Hegde, popularly known as Dr B M Hegde, cardiologist, professor of medicine, scientist, author .
He was the Vice Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education from 1999 to 2003.
He was awarded Padma Bhushan in 2010 and Padma Vibhushan in 2021. He has supported pseudoscientific theories of Homeopathy and quantum healing.
